‘Some APC Members Are Planning Emefiele’s Assassination’ – Timi Frank Alleges

Timi Frank has alleged that some members of the APC are planning to assassinate Emefiele.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, has alleged that there is an ongoing plot to murder the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Godwin Emefiele.

Emefiele has been in the news in recent times after reports that the Department of State Services (DSS) was planning to arrest and charge him for terrorism financing.

Reacting to the allegations, Frank, in a statement issued on Thursday, called on international communities, such as the United States of America, United Kingdom, European Union, World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund, to intervene in Emefiele’s situation.

He alleged that some members of the APC-led administration were planning to assassinate the CBN Governor.

Frank stated that he is of the opinion that certain individuals who are not pleased with Emefiele’s decision to redesign the Naira notes are against him as he has thwarted their plans for vote buying in the forthcoming election.

He subsequently called on the DSS to remain neutral in their investigation and follow due process if they indeed had any evidence linking Emefiele to the said charge.

Frank said: “I have it on good authority that some members of the present administration led by the APC in collaboration with some security agencies are planning to assassinate Governor Emefiele.”

He stated that the alleged plot would ruin next year’s election.

Frank noted that the DSS defended the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Pantami, over his alleged past extremist views and support for Al-Qaeda and Boko Haram, even when the minister owned up to the past Islamic messages but had done nothing to bring him to book yet they were swift in bringing the hammer down on the CBN Governor.

He stated: “It is crystal clear that this plot is not far from the politics of 2023. Therefore, we appeal to the international community to wade in and call the people who want to execute this gross illegality against the CBN Governor to order.”
