President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa announced on Sunday that opposition leader John Steenhuisen of the Democratic Alliance will serve as the new Minister of Agriculture.

The African National Congress, having lost its outright majority in the May election, will now lead a government of national unity.
“The minister of agriculture is John Steenhuisen,” Ramaphosa stated during a televised address from Pretoria.
