South African Rapper, AKA Tests Positive For COVID-19

South African rapper, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, professionally known as AKA, has tested positive for Coronavirus. 

The 32-year-old rapper, announced his result on the micro-blogging application, Twitter on Friday, July 10.

AKA noted that he publicized the outcome of his result to awaken and caution people to be careful and know the virus is real

“In an attempt to create awareness around the virus and to caution citizens to be more careful in their daily interactions with others, AKA has chosen to make his results public,” read the statement.

In a series of tweets, the rapper explained that he will document his recovery for those who trolled at his tweet alleging that he was paid to lie about his status.

“I’m going to document my recovery and you’re all going to watch because you’re a bunch of nosey bastards.”

“Damn, it really sounds like y’all WANT COVID-19!!!! Y’all sound sooooo jealous of me. This shit is weird. Trust me, you don’t wanna do this. Stay safe!!! Stay indoors! Mkaay.”

 

AKA is a South African rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and entrepreneur. Born and raised in Cape Town, Western Cape.

Forbes alias AKA came into limelight after the release of his debut single “Victory Lap” which was released from his debut album.

In April 2018, AKA alongside the vodka brand Cruz launched the watermelon-flavored drink with his initial on the bottles. That same month, Forbes was featured as a special guest on WWE Live events which were held in Johannesburg and Cape Town
