EKO HOT BLOG reports on the fixtures for the Saturday premier league games as English teams battle for positions in the league table while Southampton and Man United learn their fates with their respective games against Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Southampton have confirmed their spot in next season’s EFL Championship following their defeat to West London side, Fulham at home at the Saint Mary’s. The 2-0 defeat alongside many other terrible results throughout the season seals the Saints fate in the championship next season.

Goals by Carlos Vinicius and Aleksandr Mitrovic who came through from the bench was enough to send Southampton out from the premier league.

On the other end of the table, Manchester United regain hope after seeing off Wolverhampton Wanderers in a 2-0 victory at home at Old Trafford, with goals from Anthony Martial and Alejandro Garnacho giving the Red Devils hope of seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

The victory puts the Red Devils at 4 points ahead of Merseyside club and arch rivals, Liverpool in the premier league table as both teams battle for a place in the top 4 of the English premier league.

Chelsea on the other hand, were able to avoid defeat to Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge, coming back from a 0-1 deficit to draw level on 2-2.

The results sees Manchester United move level on points with 3rd place Newcastle United on 66 points, however remain at 4th place owing to poor goal difference, Chelsea remain at 11th place on 43 points.
