EKO HOT BLOG reports that the ‘unknown gunmen’ who have terrorized large areas of Nigeria’s southeast region since last year have published a video outlining their goals.
Our correspondent gathered that one of the SouthEast gunmen in a 2 minutes 55 seconds video clip shot in the forest said their grievance is the detention of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)
It also claimed to have no backers, claiming that “anyone who attempts any election thing will perish.”
The video was released on Thursday, April 21, 2022
“We, the unknown gunmen in Biafraland, have come to inform the public of our position.” We’ve come to protect our fatherland in any way we can. We don’t have any sponsor. And we have no intention of doing so,” a gunman said.
We are not under Simon Ekpa’s, DOS’s, or Uwazuruike’s command. Any government that gives money to any of these persons is wasting its time. Only Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s release can bring us peace. Monday sit-at-home days are sacred. Except for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s release, nothing can stop it.
