Southern Leader Condemns ‘Compensation’ Of Sacked IGP With PTF Chairmanship

  • Chief Edwin Clark has condemned the re-appointment of sacked IGP Suleiman Abba as the Chairman of Police Trust Fund.

  • He claims that it appears to be compensation for the roles he allegedly played during the 2015 general elections.

  • He also advises President Buhari to obey court rulings, including that delivered on Nnamdi Kanu.

Eko Hot Blog reports that South-South leader, Chief Edwin Clark has criticized the reappointment of Suleiman Abba, the sacked Inspector-General of Police (IGP), as the Chairman of Police Trust Fund (PTF).

Clark claims that Abba’s reappointment seems to be compensation for his alleged actions during the 2015 general elections.

EDITOR’S PICKS

In a letter addressed to President Buhari, Clark urged him to review his actions in the final days of his tenure.

He reminded Buhari of the disloyalty of the PTF boss when he went to receive Buhari at the airport without the knowledge and authorization of then-President Goodluck Jonathan, which led to Abba’s sacking.

Clark also advised Buhari to obey court rulings, including the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The Leader of the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum criticized Buhari’s legacy and asked what kind of legacy he wants to leave behind after his years as president.

Clark questioned if it was a legacy of compensating people with appointments for aiding and executing wrongful acts, nepotism, or breaching the nation’s constitution.

The South-South leader appealed to Buhari to make amends by evenly distributing appointments according to the Federal Character laws instead of compensating wrongdoing. Clark pleaded with the president to re-examine his actions in the remaining days of his tenure.
