Commissioners of Agric in the Six South West States of Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti are currently attending an emergency virtual meeting with Southwest Agricultural Company (SWACO) and the DAWN Commission.

As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, the essence of the meeting is to address the issue of Food Security for Southwest Nigeria, especially in the light of the blockage of food supply to the South by the North.

Recall that there has been widespread panic in recent days over an exponential spike of food items after major suppliers in Northern Nigeria embarked on an indefinite strike in protestation to the treatment being meted out to herdsmen in the Southern part of the country.
