The Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Mrs. Folashade Jaji has charged women to speak out against any form of violence and abuse rather than being ashamed and emotionally troubled for the rest of their lives.
She said the era of keeping quiet when raped or abused has been overtaken with awareness around the world, adding that many victims are now reporting to the appropriate authorities resulting in the arrest and prosecution of perpetrators.
Jaji enjoined young girls and ladies to be careful in celebrating Valentine’s Day by not getting carried away with the opposite sex in order to avoid sexual harassment or rape.

She, therefore, advised women to love themselves more or equal to the way they love their spouses, children, family and friends.
The leader of the Made in Lagos Women, Mrs. Bose Joseph appreciating the SSG, said that the event was to sensitise womenfolk on the need to live a good life devoid of dejection as a result of violence or abuse from men.
