Speeding Vehicle Smashes Man To Death In Abeokuta While Making Video Call

A Honda Odyssey car with the plate number, AAA 589 FV has crushed a young man who was making a video call to death.

Spokesperson of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, in Ogun State, Babatunde Akinbiyi confirmed that the incident occurred at about 11am on Wednesday May 6, Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway.

The driver of the vehicle was on his way to Ajah in Lagos State from Kuto park in Abeokuta when he ran out of petrol.

So he had to park by a corner and went ahead to buy fuel while the passengers waited in the vehicle.

It was at this point in time, the deceased decided to cross to the other side of the road for safety as there was a road diversion along the Abeokuta-Siun-Sagamu Interchange due to ongoing reconstruction.

When the driver of the Honda Odyssey car came back and had refilled the vehicle, the deceased, while crossing the road back to the car was making a video call oblivious of the fact that a vehicle was coming from the Sagamu end to Abeokuta.

The vehicle hit him instantly and he died on the spot.

The corpse has been deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital in Ijaiye, Abeokuta.
