EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Lagos State eSports Association is in for some exciting times, as the Lagos State Government, through the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), has deepened its collaborative relationship with the France eSports Association through the French Embassy.
Following a meeting with the France Esports Association and representatives from the French Embassy, Sola Aiyepeku, Executive Chairman of the Lagos State Sports Commission, stated that Lagos will build an eSports ecosystem through collaborations with international bodies and countries.
The LSSC CEO reaffirmed the State’s commitment to developing eSports and providing opportunities for youth to build careers in the fast-growing sector, which will also have an impact on the Lagos economy.
Aiyepeku declared that the State has demonstrated a leadership role in sports development by establishing the Lagos State eSports Association in March 2021. He also praised the eSports Association for enhancing its growth through such partnerships with international bodies and countries.
Deepening the relationship with the French eSports Association and the French Embassy means a lot to the Chairman of the Lagos State eSports Association, Emmanuel Oyelakin, for the development of the eSports ecosystem in Lagos State.
Also speaking, Désiré KOUSSAWO, President of the French eSports Association, expressed his enthusiasm for working with Lagos State, where the foundation for eSports development has been laid and top-notch structures have been put in place by the Lagos State Sports Commission to help the sector thrive.

The partnership, according to Lea Poirier of the French Consulate in Lagos, will enable Lagos to build strong collaboration in the long run and attract support from the public and private sectors in order to create work opportunities and pathways to success for young people.
The future of eSports is bright, not only for Lagos State but also for Nigeria, based on the relationship and level of collaboration.
