Cooking can be hectic. Especially in Lagos where you have to step out at dawn to beat the early morning traffic yet get home late and exhausted thanks to the almighty Lagos traffic.
Eating right is essential but getting good food in Lagos can be both stressful and expensive. However, there are some great spots in Lagos where you can get good food for less than 1k.
Ofada Hut
Located off Awolowo road in Ikoyi, Ofada hut sells the best rice recipes. Especially if you are the type that likes your rice with condiments like moin moin, plantain or vegetable. For many, the attraction is the sauce, their deep fried tasty ofada sauce is just too die for.
Mamacass
You can find Mama cass at literally everywhere on the mainland, Oregun, Ikeja, Magodo and some places on the Island. Just like the name suggests, Mamacass is the glorified version of a local bukka which means you can get a variety of tasty indigenous food from different parts of the country from pounded yam to egusi, efo riro and many more.
Bukka Hut
Bukka hut is situated at different parts of Lagos, Gbagada, Lekki, Ikoyi, MMA 2 and other parts of Lagos. If you are looking for the Bukha experience but in a better setting or ambiance, then Bukka hut is worth the try. For meals, as long as its sold in a local Bukha, you will find it at. For a start, i’ll recommend their Asaro and peppered gizzard.
Hubmart
Hubmart may look posh and ghen ghen on the outside but its not as expensive as it looks. The great thing about Hubmart is the selection of continental dishes as well as local dishes. For breakfast, you can get a good sandwich and if you are feeling like a treat at noon, you can also try their spagetti Bolognese. Hubmart is located at Omole, Isaac John in Ikeja and Victoria Island.
