The Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, will be one of the guest speakers, alongside other notable figures, at the awareness program aimed at sensitizing young people in Epe and Lagos State at large to consider a career in the military.
The event, organized by the Office of Wale Raji (MHR) for Epe Federal Constituency in collaboration with EKO HOT BLOG, is scheduled for Friday, November 1, 2024, at the Epe Local Government Secretariat.
Confirming her participation, the SSG said the initiative aligns with what the state is doing to support its indigenes.
Mrs. Salu-Hundeyin added that after the program, she hopes to extend similar efforts to other parts of Lagos to ensure the state is adequately represented.
“This initiative aligns perfectly with our commitment to supporting Lagos indigenes and ensuring they have the opportunities they deserve in our nation’s military.
“It’s essential that we see more Lagos youths in military ranks, contributing their skills and representing our state with pride and dedication,” she said.
“I commend Hon. Wale Raji for his visionary leadership and commitment to empowering young Lagosians. His initiative to promote military careers demonstrates his dedication to the future of Epe and Lagos State as a whole.
“I also commend EKO HOT BLOG for stepping beyond traditional reporting and using their platform to drive meaningful change. Their commitment to educating and inspiring young Lagosians toward honorable careers like the military is invaluable.”
EKO HOT BLOG notes that the Lagos State Government has expressed concern over the low participation of Lagos indigenes in recent recruitment exercises, underscoring the need for such initiatives.
