UK Prime Minister, Keir Starmer Defends Slashing Elderly Aid

The PM’s stance puts him at odds with Labour’s traditional allies, who are demanding higher pay and better benefits.

But Starmer’s determined to fix Britain’s economic woes, even if it means making tough choices.

He’s already hinted at tax rises and spending cuts to address the problems he blames on 14 years of Conservative misrule.

“I make no apologies to those, still stuck in the 1980s, who believe that unions and business can only stand at odds, leaving working people stuck in the middle,” he’ll say.
