Bauchi Govt has approved the N30,000 minimum wage for state civil workers.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Bauchi State civil servants would henceforth begin to enjoy the newly approved N30,000 minimum wage as the state government begins implementation.

The statement government led by Governor Bala Mohammed approved the new minimum wage on Nov. 30 to workers in the state.

Governor Mohammed had stated that the significant adjustment to the minimum wage would take effect on December 1 for officers in grade level 07 and above in both state and local government.

Interacting with journalists on the latest development, the Bauchi State chapter chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Danjuma Saleh, commended the state government for implementing the national minimum wage payment for the state’s civil servants.

According to him, the move would boost the state’s economy henceforth. He assured that workers in the state would give their unalloyed support to the present administration, saying, ”this subsists as long as it continues to do good to the workers.

He said: “Many people had been sceptical simply because they assumed it was just a mere statement, but right from yesterday, we have been sitting over the template, which is the implementation table.

“We have agreed on a certain point between the government and us, and we have concluded and signed the agreement.

“Indeed, I’m very happy being a leader, and we always appreciate whatever will positively impact the lives of our people. We expect that more will be done to make our workers.”
