Sugar’s Murder Case Now Being Handled By Higher Authorities, says CP
Four weeks after the murder of a member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Temitope Olatoye, aka Sugar, who represented Lagelu/Akinyele Federal Constituency, the Oyo State Police Command has said the case is now being “handled by the higher authorities,” without being specific.
The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Shina Olukolu disclosed this while parading a number of suspects at the State Police headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan yesterday.
His words: “Investigation is ongoing. The matter is being handled by the higher authority and the command is still working on the available information. Information was given to us two days ago and we are currently working on it.”
He, however, vowed that wherever the killers are, the command will get them.
“No matter how long the case may take, the perpetrators of the evil will be made to face the wrath of the law,” he vowed.
According to information gathered, the suspect in the case, Mr. Lafioye Akinmoyede, who is the Chief Whip in the Oyo State House of Assembly, has been moved to Abuja for further investigations after being detained by the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, for about two weeks after the murder of the lawmaker on March 9.
