Sunday Igboho Gives Fresh Update On Planned Yoruba Nation Rally In Lagos

  • Sunday Igboho has given a fresh update on the planned Yoruba Nation rally in Lagos State.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that popular Yoruba rights activist, Sunday Adeyemo well known as Sunday Igboho, has reiterated his readiness to lead the planned Yoruba Nation rally slated for July 3 in Lagos State.

It would be recalled that the All Progressives Congress (APC), UK Chapter, had in a statement last Tuesday, urged Igboho to shun the planned Yoruba Nation rally.

The Chairman of APC UK, Dr. Phillip Idaewor, enjoined the Yoruba Nation agitator not to proceed with the planned rally in Lagos, noting that there were other ways for the group to channel their agitations.

Idaewor had further stated that the rally should be suspended to avoid being hijacked by hoodlums to unleash terror on Lagosians.

However, Igboho while reacting via a statement by his media aide, Onaolapo Omiyale Ademola, said nothing would change the stipulated date for the Yoruba Nation rally in Lagos.

The rights activist, who gained prominence following an ultimatum he issued to criminal herdsmen in the South-West, added that the protest will be a “mega” rally regardless of the outcome of security threats.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, during an interview with newsmen, said the Command will react to that once it is notified of the rally.

“I am not aware of Sunday Igboho’s planned Lagos rally.

“When the command is aware, the command will react to that. For now, we are not aware of that,” the police spokesperson had said.
