For scoring three goals against Cameroon, an output better than all they managed in their three previous matches at the ongoing Africa Nations Cup, the Super Eagles will get $75,000 from the team’s major sponsor, AITEO.
Ahead of the match, the boss of the firm, Benedict Peters, who touched down in Alexandria early today, had promised the Gernot Rohr-coached team $25,000 per goal.
While urging the team to repeat the feat of Uyo in which they defeated their neighbour and perennial rival, Peters said $100,000 would be available for them after the game should they win by four goals.
The team, which came from behind to beat Cameroon 3-2 after having gone ahead through Ighalo in the 19th minute, will get the sum from AITEO apart from their regular win bonus and other gifts sure to come from other quarters.
