The head coach of Nigeria’s national team, Gernot Rohr is being owed eight months salary by Nigeria football Federation (NFF)

Ekohotblog reports that the German hasn’t been paid since February while he’s been left to train the super eagles team for their 2022 world cup qualifying match against Central African Republic this week and the return fixture next week.

This raises concerns on the commitment of the footballing federation to achieving the best for the national team of the country if the coach hasn’t been incentivized.

Gernot Rohr who earns $45,000 monthly is responsible for paying the team’s video analyst, chief scout as well as fitness & goalkeeper trainers from his personal earnings.

This also puts a question on sports development in Nigeria after the country’s poor outing at the 2020 summer Olympics which held in Tokyo with Nigeria winning just 2 medals; a silver and bronze.
