Super Eagles In-Form Striker Out As Rohr Releases Controversial 24-Man List For AFCON Qualifiers
- The Nigerian National team has two AFCON qualifiers coming up this month.
- Nigeria is no stranger to the competition as they have won it three times in total with their last triumph coming in the year 2013.
- The Super Eagles are going to attempt to enter into the competition next year, but there are two obstacles standing in their way.
Ahead of Nigeria’s crunch AFCON 2021 Qualifier against Benin and Lesotho, Super Eagles Franco-German tactician, Gernot Rohr has released the name of invited players that are expected to play in the matches scheduled to hold on 23rd March and 28th of March in Cotonou and Lagos respectively
As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG , It came in just this afternoon on their Facebook page, and it features familiar faces like Ahmed Musa (who is clubless at the moment), Samuel Chukwueze and Wilfred Ndidi.
First, they have to play Benin Republic at the Charles de Gaulle Stadium in Port Novo, Benin on the 27th of March 2021, before going on to play Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos on the 30th of March 2021.
However, the list has caused a lot of stirs and talks among football fans, which leaves many Super Eagles fans divided over the exclusion of Nigeria’s hottest striker in the world, who is ahead of Messi and Ronaldo in terms of total goals scored this season, Paul Onuachu with 25 goals this season.
