Nwabali will compete with standout names, including Morocco’s Yassine Bounou, Egypt’s Mostafa Shobeir, and Senegal’s Djigui Diarra.
Other top contenders include Cameroon’s Andre Onana from the English Premier League, as well as Munir El Kajoui (Morocco), Oussama Benbot (Algeria), Yahia Fofana (Ivory Coast), Lionel Mpasi (DR Congo), and Amanallah Memmiche (Tunisia).
These goalkeepers have shown outstanding skill and consistency, making the 2024 competition one of the fiercest in recent years.
Nwabali’s nomination is a significant achievement for Nigerian football, marking a rare inclusion of a Nigerian shot-stopper among the continent’s elite.
The winner will be revealed at the CAF Awards 2024 ceremony, celebrating Africa’s footballing stars.
