This marks the first time the Super Falcons will play international friendlies on home turf since the Aisha Buhari Invitational Tournament, which took place at the same venue three years ago. Prior to that, they hosted the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon at the NFF/FIFA Goal Project in Abuja in 2014.
Madugu has also included Turkey-based defender Oluwatosin Demehin, Comfort Folorunsho from Edo Queens, and Spain-based Gift Monday, along with a number of local professionals and several Falconets who participated in the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia last month.
This will be the Super Falcons’ first regrouping since the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament in France this summer, following the departure of former American coach Randy Waldrum.
The Algerian team is expected to arrive in Nigeria on Wednesday.
The Confederation of African Football has approved both matches, which will be officiated by FIFA match officials from Benin Republic.
