EKO HOT BLOG reports that in recognition of the ongoing annual Ebi Kilajolu festival in Epe land, which commenced on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun FHTI, the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government Area (LGA), extended warm greetings to the community.
The festival, spanning two days with Aleke and Ebode celebrations, holds significant cultural and spiritual importance in the region.
Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun emphasized the festival’s significance in cleansing and purifying the land and its people in her message, expressing solidarity with Kabiesi, HRM Oba Kamorudeen Animashaun, Oloja of Epe Land, chiefs, and all residents.
“I, as a daughter of the soil and one that is deeply rooted in heritage, will partake in the Ebi Kilajolu festival and seize the moment to associate and share in the joy of the people.
“I wish to encourage us all to roll out our drums in preparation to showcase our uniquely rich spectacular dance moves, drama, music and oratory prowess.
“However, as we go about this unique inheritance showcasing our tradition, festival and cultural heritage bequeathed to us by our forefathers, I enjoin us to celebrate moderately and limit our actions within the confines of the law.
“My prayer is that our sacrifices and prayers offered to the gods will be acceptable and may Epe land continue to witness peace and prosperity. Kilajolu oro! O n’ gbona jo-in jo-in.”
