Epe LG Chairman, Princess Surah O. Animashaun, receives the Best Performing LG award
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Chairman of Epe Local Government, Princess Surah O. Animashaun, has committed to engendering human capital development in the area.
She made the commitment on Thursday at the Epe Division Community Annual Awards (EDCAA) organized by the Concerned NationBuilders Initiative (CNI).
Epe LG, led by Animashaun, won the award for the Best Performing Local Government in Epe Division, at the awards ceremony.
The council’s chairman graced the event to receive the award on behalf of her people.

A statement signed by Animashaun’s Media and Publicity team revealed that the Epe LG boss spoke on the importance of developing and empowering human capital which are some of the core values of her administration.
She noted that progress and development transcend infrastructure.
According to Animashaun, sustaining a nation requires developing the people.
“Progress and Development are not solely based on infrastructure but on how it reflects and directly impacts the lives of people,” she was quoted as saying.
“The values added to an individual’s life are the things that outlive any administration or personal biases. Because when you develop the people, you sustain a nation.”

She also thanked the organisers of the event for the initiative that honours community builders and leaders of all ages and brought together some of the most prominent pillars of Epe, including Alhaji Shakiru Akanni Seriki-Bamu, Right Honourable Adeyemi Ikuforiji, Chief Muyiwa Akintola, Hon. Segun Olulade Eleniyan, Dr. Olayiwole Onasanya, Mrs. Saidat Olayinka Oladunjoye, to name a few.

One of the most influential winners of the night was the apex leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Epe Division, Seriki Bamu, who won the Epe Ambassador of the Year award for the Male category.
Rt. Hon. Ikuforiji bagged the Epe Division Man of the Year award, while the Elejinrin of Ejinrin, Oba Rafiu Ishola Balogun, won the Royal Personality of the Year award and the Chairman of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), Hakeem Shittu, was named the Education Support Personality of the Year.
Additionally, Eko Hot Blog bagged the Media Company of the Year award, while its publisher, Otunba TJ Abass, was the recipient of the Philanthropist of the Year award. Yeye Chief Iyabo Osifeso won the Female category of the Epe Ambassador of the Year award, while media entrepreneur, Babatunde Kaka, was voted the Youth Influencer of the Year.
The St. Michael’s Anglican Primary School, Popo Oba, Epe, won the Best Primary School award, while Epe Girls Junior School was the recipient of the Best Public Junior Secondary School award.
Epe Senior Grammar School, Epe, won the Best Senior Secondary School award, while Epe Federal Constituency also won the Most Performing Constituency award.
