EKO HOT BLOG reports that Abdulhakeem had been paraded as the prime suspect in the murder of the late Permanent Secretary, who was stabbed at his block industry near the PDP Secretariat in Minna. Before his death, he reportedly claimed that some employees of the deceased had hired him to carry out the crime.

The incident adds to growing concerns over the safety of suspects in police custody.

In a related case, a 35-year-old man, Jimoh Abdulquadri, died in police custody in Kwara State just days earlier.

The Kwara State Police Command has launched a discreet investigation into allegations of torture leading to Abdulquadri’s death.

The family of Abdulquadri, including his mother and elder brother, have alleged that he suffered fatal injuries from physical assault by police personnel, accusing them of negligence and abuse of power.
