Suspected Bandits Kill Man, Abduct Daughters In Nasarawa

EKO HOT BLOG reports that unknown gunmen, in the early hours of Sunday, killed a man and abducted two of his daughters at Azuba, a suburb of the capital city of Nasarawa State, Lafia.

The slain victim identified as Alhaji Zakari Kigbu is said to be a kinsman of the Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule.

Kigbu was also a one time former Commissioner, National Population Commission and also a former President of the Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA).

Confirming the report, the spokesman of Nasarawa State Police Command, ASP Ramhan Nansel said, “we received a distress call at about 12:15 am about the attack and reacted swiftly by mobilizing our patrol teams and the military to the scene.

“Upon arrival, it was discovered that the victim had been shot on his abdomen.

“He was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
