EKO HOT BLOG reports that suspected terrorists attacked the home of Plateau State Commissioner for Environment, Usman Bamaiyi, in the Gindiri community of the state’s Mangu Local Government Area in the early hours of Saturday.
Bamaiyi, who is also running for the Mangu/Bokkos federal constituency in the National Assembly in 2023, was not at home when the gunmen invaded his residence at about 2 a.m., according to sources.
During the incident, however, it was reported that a big group of gunmen broke into his residence and kidnapped his wife and children.
“Some gunmen arrived at Gindiri yesterday night at 2 am,” a resident of Gindiri told The press in Jos, confirming the attack.
They rushed immediately to the State Commissioner for the Environment’s residence. The sound of the bullets was deafening. When they gunmen finally left, we discovered that they had taken the commissioner’s wife and daughter with them.”
Ubah Ogaba, the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, verified the abduction of the commissioner’s wife and daughter.
“When we received the information at 2:30 a.m., we quickly mobilized our tactical team to the area,” he said. Our men are currently working to save the victims and apprehend the offenders.”
