Suspected protesters have set ablaze the multi-million naira Nigeria Communications Commission, NCC, office complex in Kano.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the large number of youths who were armed with dangerous weapons, also took over major roads in the Kano metropolis.
The newly constructed office was said to have been scheduled for inauguration next week.
In Hotoro quarters of the ancient city, all shops were closed while a petrol station and a Rufaida shop were also set ablaze.
Some residents called on the authorities to take immediate action to restore order and protect lives and property.

Alhaji Isa Musa, a resident of Charanchi in Gwale Local Government Area, described the current situation as a threat to humanity.
Musa urged the police to deploy additional personnel to the area immediately to address the deteriorating security situation and restore order.
“The situation requires prompt action to ensure the safety and security of residents, protect property, and maintain law and order in the metropolis,“he said.
