The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Twitter account @NgComCommission has been restored.
NCC verified this via tweet on its twitter handle today, Tuesday November 24.
The restoration of the account followed a temporary suspension by Twitter, a move taken to ensure the safety of the account owner, NCC and its thousands of followers.
Twitter’s security features interpreted the multiple Internet Protocol (IP) connections of online staff as an alleged attempt to hack the Commission’s Twitter account, hence the decision to immediately suspend the account to protect the account and its followers against any breach or compromise of security.
NCC’s Twitter account currently has over 124,000 followers and the Commission primarily uses it to provide and disseminate communications and up-to-date information on its regulatory activities to its various stakeholders.
