EDITOR’S PICK:
Sweat stains can be super embarrassing. Imagine all the effort you put in to look good, only for large yellow sweat stains to take center stage and steal the show.
In most circumstances, that is exactly what happens. Despite your killer dress, everyone’s eye will be drawn to your armpits.
And, if you’re anything like me, you’ll never stop sweating, rain or shine. Although we all sweat, there’s no reason to flaunt your sweat stains in public.
1. Shave your armpits
Thick armpit hair is unattractive. Furthermore, it can serve as a breeding ground for microorganisms. As if that weren’t enough, excess sweat and grime collect there as well, which is why they have a lingering odor.
By keeping your armpit hair short, you allow sweat to dry quickly, resulting in fewer stains and odors that may linger for hours.
2. Wear an undershirt
A covering between your skin and your attire will make all the difference. If you’re a heavy sweater, invest in some sweat-proof underwear. This will keep stains and smells at bay.
These innovative undershirts are designed to trap and evaporate sweat, keeping you dry throughout the day.
3. Underarm pads
Yes, this is a real thing! Dress shields, as they are commonly known, have adhesives on one side that stick to your garment and an absorbent side that absorbs sweat. You can easily go to the market and get one that suits you.
4. Wash your shirts right away.
The longer you leave a sweat stain on your shirt or dress, the more it will set in and become tough to remove. When you come home, the first thing you should do is remove your garment and hand wash it in cold water with detergent.
Once the discoloration is gone you can proceed to throw it to the washing machine or finish washing it by hand then hang it.
If you don’t do this, your shirt will keep having uncontrollable yellowish stains, which can become permanent over time.
