Tackle Violence, Buhari Urges Security Agencies

President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday called on security agencies across the country to fight against violence in the country.

He said this while reacting to the killing of the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State, Chief Philip Shekwo.

Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the president, Mallam Garba Shehu, stated that the president condemned the killing of Shekwo.

He added that the contributions of the victim to the strengthening of the party were feasible and acknowledged.

The President welcomed the decision of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to send reinforcement of men and materials to the state.

He commiserated with the family of the deceased, saying, “I strongly condemn the killing of Philip Shekwo. He was kind and jovial. His contribution towards strengthening the party in Nasarawa State will not be forgotten…”
