The Oyo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun, said it has apprehended some unauthorised tailors reportedly sewing fake uniforms of the security outfit to unscrupulous elements in the state.
Chairman, Amotekun Corps, General Kunle Togun (rtd.), who made the disclosure on a radio programme in the state on Saturday said the suspects were arrested in the Challenge area of Ibadan.
According to him, the suspects had been handed over to the police at Yemetu Police Station.

“We heard that these people were sewing and selling the fake Amotekun uniform to some people particularly at Lagelu area of Ibadan. We are presently in the area to uncover the truth,” Togun said.
He said the security agency fears that the uniforms, if in possession of ill-intentioned persons, will be used to commit crimes that will be believed to be the handiwork of Amotekun operatives.
Togun also recalled how he fired a trigger-happy Amotekun operative who killed 21-year-old Tosin Thomas in the Mokola area in the state to serve as a deterrent, saying: “We are really afraid of this development because bad news spread quickly than good news.”
