Taraba State Assembly Elects New Speaker

Taraba State House of Assembly has elected the Majority Leader, representing Lau Constituency,Joseph Albasu Alkinjoh, as its Speaker.

While Abdullahi Hamman Adama, from Bali II constituency, emerged the deputy Speaker, and Rtd Capt. Douglas Ndatse emerged as the Majority Leader.

The development in the House’s leadership followed the resignation of the former Speaker, Peter Abel Diah and his deputy, Charles Maijankai on Sunday night.

Their resignation letters were read by the Clerk of the House, Orngu Mela, at a plenary Monday morning.

The speaker,Deputy Speaker and the house leader legislative duties took immediate effect.
