In the track, West controversially rapped, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/ Why? I made that bitch famous,” alleging Swift’s consent to the lyrics.
Swift vehemently denied this, prompting Kim Kardashian to release a recording suggesting Swift had lied and approved the lyrics, branding Swift a “snake.”
Reflecting on the feud in a 2023 Time interview marking her as Person of the Year, Swift described it as a “bleak” period, revealing she retreated to a foreign country and secluded herself in a rental house for a year.
She admitted to deep fear, a lack of trust, and significant isolation, stating, “I went down really, really hard.”
In 2019, Kardashian claimed on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” that the feud had concluded.
However, a year later, the full phone exchange between West and Swift emerged, appearing to validate Swift’s version of events.
