EKO HOT BLOG reports that the rift between Taylor Swift and Kanye West ignited in 2009 with his notorious interruption of Swift’s acceptance speech at the Video Music Awards, reigniting in 2016 with the release of West’s song “Famous.”

In the track, West controversially rapped, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/ Why? I made that bitch famous,” alleging Swift’s consent to the lyrics.

 

Swift vehemently denied this, prompting Kim Kardashian to release a recording suggesting Swift had lied and approved the lyrics, branding Swift a “snake.”

 

Reflecting on the feud in a 2023 Time interview marking her as Person of the Year, Swift described it as a “bleak” period, revealing she retreated to a foreign country and secluded herself in a rental house for a year.

She admitted to deep fear, a lack of trust, and significant isolation, stating, “I went down really, really hard.”

 

In 2019, Kardashian claimed on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” that the feud had concluded.

However, a year later, the full phone exchange between West and Swift emerged, appearing to validate Swift’s version of events.

However, Kardashian expressed confusion on Twitter, stating, “The video showed nothing new. We all knew that. I’m so confused right now.”
