Teacher Faces Court For Alleged N760,000 Fraud

Eko Hot Blog reports that the defendant, whose address remains undisclosed, is currently facing a two-count charge related to felony and advance fee fraud.

According to Police Prosecutor Insp Ayodeji Omoyeigha, the defendant, along with an accomplice who is currently at large, committed a felony on April 17 at approximately 10:00 am at No. 96, Ikoya Road, Okitipupa, in the Okitipupa magisterial district.

Court of law

Omoyeigha explained that the defendant obtained N760,000 from one Oluwasegun Ehinmosan under the false pretence of assisting in purchasing certain goods but failed to do so.

These actions are in violation of Sections 516 and 419 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol. I, Laws of Ondo State, 2006.

However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.

Chief Magistrate Mr. Philip Akinlosetu granted bail to the defendant in the amount of N200,000, with a surety required to provide an equal sum. The surety must reside within the jurisdiction of the court and present evidence of two years’ tax payment to the state government.

The case has been adjourned for further proceedings until October 26.
