With the backlash seemingly no longer bearable, Nigerian singer, Tekno, has spoken up about his involvement in the saga of a truck seen conveying strippers in the Lekki area of Lagos days ago.
The truck, which got stuck in the traffic late Friday around the Lekki/Ikoyi tollgate caused an unpleasant sight for many as semi-nude ladies were seen dancing seductively in the manner of a strip club.
Videos of the incident quickly went viral, especially as it emerged that Tekno was captured in a few of the videos spraying foreign currency on the ladies clad in nothing but lingerie.
In a social media post on Sunday, Tekno said the incident was a video shoot and not an advert for a strip club.
“First of all there was no reason for us to be dancing in a Truck around Lekki. There was no music, no ventilation in the truck. We were shooting a music video, and we had shortage of vehicles to convey people to the next location, because some of the cars broke down in between the shoot, which we divided ourselves into various vehicle because we had been shooting all day and having fun which we then moved to the next location,” he wrote in parts.
It is a piece of explanation many will consider as lame as the Lagos State Government has announced readiness to act on the matter and bring perpetrators to book.
