Eko Hot Blog reports that the first tranche of a N10,000,000 loan and grant has been disbursed to small business owners in Ibeju Lekki Local Government (LG).
This event, which was local council in collaboration with the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), held on Friday, July 18, 2024.
The event, held at the Ibeju Lekki Local Government Secretariat in Igando-Oloja, was graced by high-powered dignitaries and special guests.
In his address, the Council Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa emphasized the importance of economically empowering the people through financial support.
He acknowledged that many businesses have shut down due to financial constraints, necessitating this intervention to support small businesses.
Hon. Olowa urged beneficiaries to use the funds wisely to become eligible for future loans and benefits.
He expressed gratitude to the LSETF for their partnership and support.
Similarly, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Isiaka Yusuf Olatunji, advised beneficiaries to avoid frivolous spending and to be prudent and accountable.
Likewise, Mrs. Abisola Azeez, Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, encouraged beneficiaries to seek potential opportunities.
Also, Mr. Segun Ayodele, head of the LSETF team, commended Hon. Olowa for partnering with LSETF to offer interest-free loans.
He urged beneficiaries to make the most of this unique opportunity provided by the collaboration.
Notable attendees included the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo, and members of the legislative council.
Also present were the Council Manager, Mr. Oladipupo Otinwa, Apex leaders, traditional Royal Fathers, and other dignitaries.
