Teniola & Afolabi 2021: Cheers To a Nimble Journey Forever

The date was December 18, 2021, on a beautiful, crisp afternoon, and all roads led to the prestigious Grandeur event centre Oregun, Lagos, where two love birds, Teniola Jackson and Afolabi Duduyemi, having promised each other forever and a day, moved to tie the nuptial cord in resplendent fashion.

It was a great honour for the opportunity to share the stage with friends and well-wishers of the Jacksons and the Duduyemis to witness such an auspicious occasion in the lives of their children.

Marriage is an institution ordained by God. It is a sub-source of the human family and an extension of a nuclear unit that makes up a composite whole. It is a life-long commitment, a physical, spiritual and emotional fusion that determines the trajectory of one’s life to a significant degree.

For Teniola and Afolabi, it was a defining moment that not only tied the nuptial cord but their individual destinies on a cosmic level.

Adding to the elation of the occasion was the triumph of the Duduyemis and the Jacksons over the dreaded Covid-19 to witness the momentous occasion of the coming together of their children as one.

Personally, It was joy unconfined to have shared the stage with friends and family members of the Jacksons and Duduyemi to celebrate the monumental occasion.

As expected, the event hall, scintillatingly decorated, was filled to near capacity with strict observance to Covid-19 protocols.

The ceremony started with the church wedding, followed by the reception at the Grandeur event centre.

The MC and the DJ, understanding the assignment, laced the scenery with creative humour and apt music to send the guests into wild ecstasy.

Mr Lekan Ogunbanwo, retired permanent secretary in the Lagos state civil service represented by Mr Bamgboye, another permanent secretary in the state civil service, delivering the Chairman’s speech on behalf of the former, did so with conviction and aplomb.

The brief exhortation provided a much-needed intermission to convey time-proven wisdom that would guide the couple through the journey forever.

Harping on the need to ensure that team communication is always on full signal, the chairman also implored the couple to find the right balance by accommodating each other’s strengths and frailties since such frailties could mar any union if not handled with maturity and wisdom.
