Tension As Soldier Stabs DSS Officer To Death In Ekiti
- A soldier has reportedly stabbed a DSS officer to death in Ekiti State.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that tension has rented the atmosphere in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, as a yet-to-be-identified soldier reportedly stabbed an operative of the Department of State Service (DSS) to death.
It was gathered that the incident occurred at the popular KSSD Hotel located at NTA Road in the state capital on Friday evening.
EKO HOT BLOG learnt that the soldier stabbed the DSS officer to death over a minor disagreement.
The soldier was said to have accosted a young man suspected to be an internet fraudster popularly called “Yahoo Boy’ at the Hotel.
In the process of apprehending him, the suspect sighted a familiar face who was said to be the late DSS officer.
The atmosphere, however, became tensed when the deceased attempted to intervene and pleaded with the soldier to let the suspect go.

The soldier, who was enraged by the alleged intervention, reportedly stabbed the DSS officer in the neck, which resulted in his death hours after.
He was rushed to the state hospital in Ado Ekiti but gave up the ghost minutes after.
EKO HOT BLOG further gathered that a few minutes after, the DSS operatives stormed the hotel premises and took the soldier into custody.
When contacted, the Ekiti State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sunday Abutu, confirmed the incident.
Abutu noted that the victim was killed during an argument with some soldiers, adding that the police were investigating the incident.
He said, “We heard that the DSS operative was killed during a hot argument with some soldiers yesterday evening.
“The deceased’s corpse had been deposited in the morgue. The perpetrators of the murder had been arrested.
“Let me also add that our detectives have started an investigation, and we will get to the root of the matter,” the police spokesperson said.
