EKO HOT BLOG reports that former President Muhammadu Buhari has departed Abuja for Daura, his hometown, after completing his tenure and serving the country for eight years.
Buhari left the Eagle Square in Abuja and headed to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Buhari’s departure took place immediately after Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima were sworn in as President and Vice President respectively on Monday.
Prior to his departure, Buhari officially handed over flags and other symbols of authority to the new president. This symbolic gesture marked the formal transfer of power.
In a related event, Buhari had a dinner in the State House Banquet Hall on Sunday, where he was joined by Tinubu and other distinguished guests.
