Hon. (Dr.) Segun Agbaje, Commissioner III of the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) representing Epe, has reaffirmed the commission’s dedication to the welfare of teachers following a tragic accident on the Epe-Ijebu Ode Expressway.
Ekohotblog reports that the accident, which claimed the life of Mr. Adeyeye A.A., a teacher at Pobuna Junior Secondary School, and left 16 others injured, occurred as teachers were returning from a verification exercise in Alausa, Ikeja.

“We understand the gravity of this situation, and TESCOM has been actively involved from the onset. For the teacher transferred to LASUTH, all medical expenses are being covered to guarantee proper treatment and recovery,” Hon. Agbaje stated.
He urged teachers to remain calm and avoid protests, assuring them that TESCOM is working diligently to address the incident.>
“We are fully committed to addressing this unfortunate incident. I implore our teachers to remain calm and trust that TESCOM is doing everything possible to support them during this difficult time,” he added.
Hon. Agbaje extended his condolences to the family of the late Mr. Adeyeye and expressed solidarity with the injured victims and their families.>
“This is a painful moment for us all. We deeply mourn the loss of Mr. Adeyeye and are doing our best to ensure the injured receive the best care. Our thoughts and prayers remain with their families,” he said.
Teachers in Epe have commended TESCOM’s swift response, with many calling for enhanced safety measures during official assignments.
Mrs. Olubukola, a teacher from Eredo, remarked, “We appreciate TESCOM’s efforts, especially Hon. Agbaje’s intervention. However, we hope this tragedy leads to more proactive steps to ensure the safety of teachers while on duty.”
