TESCOM Warns Public Against Fake Recruitment Scams

The Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has alerted the public to fraudulent recruitment notices being circulated on social media, particularly through WhatsApp.

Ekohotblog gathers that In an official statement, the Chairman of TESCOM, Mrs. Victoria Mopelola Peregrino, categorically debunked the authenticity of these messages, urging job seekers to disregard them.

She clarified that TESCOM does not authorize or promote recruitment advertisements via social media platforms.

“These messages are not from TESCOM,” Mrs. Peregrino asserted. “We have a formal and transparent process for communicating official information.

TESCOM, as a corporate entity, does not and will not advertise recruitment opportunities through WhatsApp or unauthorized social media channels.”

The Commission emphasized the need for vigilance, warning the public against falling victim to scammers exploiting job seekers’ aspirations.

“Some unscrupulous elements are taking advantage of job seekers by luring them into parting with their hard-earned money. Under no circumstances does TESCOM demand money for job recruitment,” she stated.

Mrs. Peregrino also issued a stern warning to the perpetrators of these scams:
“We advise these scammers to desist from their illegal acts immediately. The law will soon catch up with them, and they will face the full wrath of justice.”

She advised job seekers to verify any information through official TESCOM channels and stressed the Commission’s commitment to transparency and integrity in its recruitment processes.

TESCOM encouraged residents to report suspicious messages or individuals posing as representatives of the Commission to the appropriate authorities for prompt action.

This warning serves as a reminder for the public to remain cautious and rely only on verified sources for official information.
