The Politics Of 2023: Why Nigeria’s Presidency Must Be Allowed To Return To South

Any northern politician in public office who expresses an interest in the presidency is a first-line opportunist hoping to travel on President Muhammadu Buhari’s coattails to gain access to presidential powers.

The majority of our elected officials believe in exploiting the privileges granted to them by holding public office, and they prefer to use these privileges against ordinary Nigerians’ aspirations, Eko hot blog gathered.

The young governor at the Confluence clearly missed politics when he pretended to preach from a political party constitution that “anybody, from any country, can contest the 2023 presidency” because he wants to explain why he is interested in a Northerner remaining Nigeria’s next President: rumors have it that he is interested in the race – fickle funny.

I’ll be understanding with the young man because I can’t vouch for his knowledge of history. I’m not sure who he was in politics when the birth pangs of our 4th National Republic started.

One thing the young Governor may not have known is that our 4th Republic was built on the basis of restitution for the injustice that some sectional-driven military leaders inflicted on Southern Nigeria by annulling the electoral victory that the South had won.

Only a military coup would be able to topple the 5th National Republic’s base. Otherwise, any negative sermon from the depths of Hell would perish from hunger.

Presidency 2023

That past must not be forgotten by any Nigerian. We need to expose those who don’t know, including our governor at the Confluence, to that past in order to help them, and those who do know this history but are self-aware enough of political significance to put themselves first before Nigerians, should be found in the confessions of some leading lights of banditry in Nigeria.

Those among the bandits who have chosen to repent of molesting, torturing, and causing traumatic experiences to law-abiding citizens who are struggling to make ends meet due to the economic hardships forced in this country by a global health crisis currently being faced, admitted to how “some people in government” recruited, deplored, and assigned them to various forests before waiting for more instructions on what to do in parts of some Northern Nigerian states.

Assumedly, this occurred prior to the 2015 general elections, when the opposition’s novel win was in question.

In a viral video confession made in a forest in Zamfara State during Sheik Gumi’s visit to commune with them, a leader of bandits disclosed how it is impossible for forest-dwelling Fulanis like them to “manufacture AK47 weapons in the forest,” nor is it possible for them “to buy the rifles and ammunition” available to them, including anti-aircraft mortars, “without the help of the government.”

The bandit-leader revealed in the viral confession that they were told to wait for more orders about what their assignments would entail, but that they were instead abandoned in the woods, without food or treatment, but with deadly weapons in their hands. And, in order to survive, they turned to crime.

If this isn’t pitiful, I don’t know what is. Any government in the South, in this view, could not possibly sponsor these ethnic criminals: it must be the North.

Nobody, for his selfish political relevance-seeking, would blindfold Nigerians against our shared history, as some Northern politicians, particularly some of their governors, are attempting to play bad politics by appealing to their hypocrisy.

Whoever thinks he can use Senator Rochas Okorocha as an example of how a Southerner ran against President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 should keep in mind that the majority of Nigerians knew who the APC’s Presidential Candidate will be several weeks before the party’s convention, where he was chosen to fly the Presidential flag.

When our nation wants to do what our national constitution supports, no leader can preach a party constitution.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s candidacy had already been sealed in stone by the leaders of the legacy parties, who had devised a blueprint for the APC to pursue to achieve political success.

It was Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu’s Vice Presidency that was dealt a fatal blow, and his traducers have continued to treat him inhumanely since then. What exactly is their grievance against him?

What are our thoughts on him? No greedy person would mislead us by spoiling another person because he has beaten him to a pulp in politics. Allow them to remain outside of politics and try what they’re doing.

I dare the Northern governors who are attempting to break the APC to tell Nigerians what they have against The Jagaban.

This is why some governors in the north despise the Jagaban: if nothing is done to save him, the Asiwaju will inevitably assume Nigeria’s presidency. This is the source of their dissatisfaction.

This is the worst-case scenario for them. They can’t stop worrying about the Asiwaju, despite the fact that they hold political office and the Asiwaju does not.

Nigerians must choose between ruthless opportunism and clear prospects.

As a result, it is intolerable that the bulk of those at the top of our security services in this administration are from a region of the world that is experiencing the most humiliating security situation.

This raises the possibility of a “Northern agenda,” as identified by Christian leaders in the United States.

Recognizing this is critical to achieving the Agenda’s goals starting in 2023, which is why there is a conspiracy to keep the presidency in the North, and why the presidency must be rotated to the South or the “nation” will collapse, It was said that whoever is in charge of arming herders and bandits with guns and ammunition should be prepared to face the South.

How can the South trust the North with their lives and prosperity when they can’t even secure their homelands, or are they collaborating with criminals to achieve a shared goal?

This viewpoint echoes the frequent demands for congregantional prayers in our churches in response to the “Islamization Agenda” against Nigerians. I’m not sure what that means, but one thing this viewpoint cannot deny is that Southern Christians have come to believe that there should be a war because of the actions of some northern governors and slavish cabinet ministers in this administration be a scheme favored by them to carry out an out-of-date Jihad.

Returning to the foundations laid for the current and lasting democracy, which has already survived 22 years of struggle and mental challenges, the North must agree that rotation is crucial for our continued peace and tranquility. On “June 12 1993,” Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, GCFR, was robbed of his presidency on ethnic grounds.

The Yoruba presidency arose on the eve of the 4th Republic, necessitating “presidency rotation” between the North and the South, as part of the building blocks and concrete mixture poured out to lay the foundation of our 4th Republic.

Who is attempting to use the political office he assumed just a few years ago to attempt, by opportunism, to undermine those well-established and strong foundations? I address any conscience that is attempting to usurp our presidency in 2023.

Whoever reads out his party constitution to favor his area in the 2023 presidential election must reconcile it with our national constitution, which states that “what is good for the goose is good for the gander” under our federal character principle.

Our constitution’s basic derivative concept also states that “the Unity of Nigeria” is unquestionable. When these two documents are compared, it is apparent that some of our leaders enjoy shopping for laws that benefit their narrow-mindedness and unjustified desire for political influence and relevance.

And it’s typically the same control that they misuse. It is past time for the North to wind down President Muhammadu Buhari’s presidency in 2023, park out, and hand over the Aso Rock Villa to a President from the South, who, in my opinion, should be elected from among those who have been out of politics for a long time.

Again, it is inexcusable that almost all security services are staffed by one Northerner or the other, and yet the most humiliating security problems this country faces are in the North.

Two factors should be considered in this situation: service leadership incompetence or connivance on the part of service leadership. In any case, there appears to be no foreseeable protection masterplan for dealing with instability in the North.

We can’t keep up with this degree of nepotism, which is a direct sign of a lack of ideas. This is why the South must assume the next Nigerian presidency in order to restore faith in our government among Christians in the south.

It will demonstrate that there is no intention to convert our nation to Islam. It will also contribute to every Nigerian’s sense of belonging to the Unity established by our national constitution.
