Falz expressed his disappointment with the violence and manipulation that marred the recent elections, describing INEC’s performance as a “big mess”.
He said, “There’s absolutely nothing I’m saying on this record or Vector is saying on this record that hasn’t occurred. We are not fabricating facts, we are not making things up, we are not painting a scenario that did not occur. We are telling you things as they happened.”
The rapper further explained that he and his colleagues witnessed several cases of violence during the elections and were disappointed that nothing was done to address the situation. He lamented that despite numerous cases of violence witnessed, nothing was done about it.
Falz’s latest single, “Yakubu,” features rapper Vector, and both artists take aim at INEC and its Chairman, calling for accountability and transparency in the electoral process. The song has gained significant attention on social media and has sparked debates about the state of Nigeria’s democracy.
This is not the first time Falz has used his music to address social and political issues in Nigeria. The rapper has previously spoken out about corruption, police brutality, and other societal ills. He has been praised for his activism and the role his music plays in raising awareness about these issues.
