EKO HOT BLOG reports that Chelsea suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers in their Premier League match on Saturday, with caretaker manager Frank Lampard acknowledging that his team were unable to match their opponents’ aggression.
Speaking after the match, Lampard said that Wolves were a very aggressive team and his squad was unable to bring together their aggression against them. Despite having a talented squad, the Chelsea boss admitted that the team was struggling to deliver the results that the fans expected, and there was no quick fix for the issues they were facing.
Matheus Nunes scored the only goal of the game in the first half, which ultimately proved to be enough for Wolves to secure all three points. Chelsea had chances to equalize, but they were unable to capitalize on them, much to the frustration of the fans.
Lampard emphasized that he was disappointed that the team could not deliver a win for the fans, but he also recognized that it was a big task, and he did not expect to solve everything in one day. He added that their next game, against Real Madrid in the Champions League, would be a different game altogether, and he was hoping for a positive result.
Chelsea is currently in a challenging position in the Premier League, and they will need to put in more consistent performances to turn their fortunes around. Despite their recent struggles, they still have a talented squad and a lot of potential, and it remains to be seen how they will perform in the coming weeks and months.
