The Relocation Of Computer Village & Mile 12 Market – Lagosians Might Experience Access Problems

  • Computer Village is located in Ikeja,in Lagos state.
  • The location, coming enroute Agege towards Ile-zik is inbetween Iyana Ipaja and Oshodi in Lagos state.
  • Also, Mile 12 is actually a kilometer division of the road linking Ketu and Ikorodu Lagos, in-between Ketu and Ikorodu (although still far from Ikorodu) is the Mile 12 Market.

Now, the significant aspect of these two areas of human resources and business is the issue of location and relocation. The move for the relocation of Computer Village and Mile 12 Market started during the regime of Mr Babatunde Fashola, the erstwhile Governor of Lagos state.

Computer village is to be moved to “Katangua” a suburb of Abule Egba, in Super Bus-stop a location bursting out from Agege junction (now with an interchange bridge).

This area of business, reputed for the sales of imported used but graded clothes,is an easy link for those around Abule Egba, Agbado Ijaiye, Sango and Agege environs, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.

Computer Village is in the outskirts of Ikeja. It is set directly opposite the Lagos State Teaching Hospital (Lasuth), which is along Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way.

A unique centre for the sales of all computers, accessories and infotech solutions. It is a very easy link for people all around Yaba, Berger-Omole and Ogba areas.

Moving to Super(Katangua) would definitely distort the direct accessibility for those coming directly from Victoria Island and Lekki sides.

Going by the reasons of the State Government that it’s location does not befit the standard of the status of Lagos state, as a stylish centre of excellence, trade and commerce of Nigeria.

In the case of the relocation of computer village, I do not think it would be much of concerns for business people since computer and it’s various accessories are things that are necessarily procured if really you want to do any business computer based.

Now that every business is digitalized, you would not want your business to lag behind, so it is a necessity to travel all the way from wherever you are to wherever computer village might have been relocated.

The relocation of mile 12 might not really be a thing of benefit for the consumers and sellers. Mile 12 is being relocated as far as Ikorodu. Not just Ikorodu, but the farther outskirts that might be those settlements belonging to Ogun state government.

The Mile 12 Market is of greater value and interest to both sellers and consumers. It is in Ketu area, accessible for anyone coming straight from Obalende, Iyana Oworo, Yaba, Ikeja, and even as far as Sango sides.

The relocation of Computer Village might affect some people, owing to the fact that it might not be a direct link for them any longer. But, the transactions in Computer Village is a must for those whose business relies heavily on the computer based solutions and infotech.

I believe relocating centres such as these should involve a deliberate negotiation and considerations of some salient concerns between the Government and the stakeholders.
