‘There Can Only Be One Governor At A Time’ – Abiodun Takes Swipe At Amosun

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun, says he remains the only governor of the state as “any other person is an imposter doing a macabre dance”.

He spoke few hours after his predecessor and arch-rival, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, boasted that, except former President Olusegun Obasanjo, no other politician, dead or alive, has served the state more than him since 1999.

Amosun while addressing All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwarts at a rally in Abeokuta, maintained despite the crisis in the state’s chapter of the ruling party, he remains in the party as well as his supporters.

Abiodun and Amosun, the friends turned foes have been battling for the soul of the APC in the state.

The governor spoke when chieftains, leaders and members of APC in Ogun Central Senatorial District donated vehicles and motorcycles to support his second term bid.

He warned party members not to be deceived by any “unfounded rumours and illusion that there is another governor somewhere.”

Abiodun said his administration would not be bothered by architects of confusion in the state, but would continue to leave the doors of his administration open to all those who want to constructively engage with it.

He said, “It is very unfortunate what desperation and frustration can push people to do. We will not be distracted by the architects of confusion, but we will continue to leave our doors open to those that want to constructively engage with us and join with us.

“Those whose intentions are genuine that want to come back home and be part of our fold, I am using this medium to assure them that our doors are wide open.
