-
Mikel Arteta is no stranger to the narratives being peddled surrounding the eventual winners of the premier league or the outcome of the end of the season.
-
The Spaniard while answering questions regarding who the favorites for the title are, accepts the reality that many still tip Manchester City to the title.
-
However, Arteta recognizes the need for the Gunners to work to the finish line if they hope to change the narrative.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has acknowledged that Manchester City are favourites to win the Premier League title this year. Despite the Gunners currently sitting six points ahead of the champions, who have played a fixture less, Arteta believes City are still the team to beat.
Responding to a question about City’s favouritism for the title, Arteta replied: “You ask them at the start of the season, it was like this so nothing has changed.” The Arsenal manager, however, expressed satisfaction with his team’s current position in the league.

Arteta called on his players to maintain their focus and “finish the job” in the remaining fixtures. He emphasized the need for an extra effort from everyone in the team to achieve their objectives.
“We are where we are. We are happy where we are. We have to finish the job. In order to do that, we need that extra bit of everybody,” Arteta added.
Manchester City, managed by Arteta’s former boss Pep Guardiola, have been in impressive form this season. They are currently second in the Premier League table, six points behind Manchester United, who have played a game more.
Manchester City have a game in hand over Arsenal and should they win, will be 3 points close to Arsenal in the standings. With a squad full of quality players and the guidance of Guardiola, City are widely tipped to overtake Arsenal and secure another Premier League title.
