‘They Have Been Settled Overnight’ – Nigerians Attack NLC, TUC For Suspending Strike

Students ask FG to grant ASUU demands also
Nigerians have expressed their discontent with the decision of the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress to call off the planned protest and industrial action scheduled for today, September 28th.
The Labour union bodies had announced it plan to embark on strike over the federal government decision to hike petrol price and electricity tariff.
In other to forestall the imminent strike, the federal government twice secured an Injunction from the industrial Court restraining the union from proceeding with the protest and strike.
This, however, didn’t deter labour from embarking on the strike as it announced on Sunday afternoon that the industrial action will go on as planned.
But in a bizarre twist of event, Nigerians were shocked when they woke up to the news of the strike suspension.
The labour cited an agreement reached with the federal government as the reason for shelving the planned strike and protest. It added that it had been able to reach a compromise as the government has expressed its willingness to make some concessions.
Part of the agreement reached with the government, is, among other things, to have the newly implemented pricing regime for electricity tariffs suspended for two weeks.
But the development didn’t go down with Nigerians with many taking to the social media to castigate the labour union and also express their displeasure at the union decision.
Many are of them were of opinion that the union has been compromised and have been settled by the government in the dead of the night to change their stance of the issue.
Other accused the labour union of working against the interests of the masses, noting that even the electricity tarrif issue that is perfunctorily tackled is one in many sociopolitical and economic issues affecting the citizens
Dear Nigerians, you have no NLC and TUC. None of the conditions was met yet they suspended the strike.
Only electricity tariff was suspended for 2 weeks yet they agreed.
This is the Next Level you chose, next level of the compromised. #NLCStrike 😂

FG didn't concern about the future of Nigerian Students. ASUU are on strike since February and the selfish government didn't provide it needs but stay awake a whole night to stop NLC and TUC from going on strike.
With or without school, our future won't be useless by God Grace.

So FG settled NLC and TUC overnight but ASUU has been on strike for over 6 months now and FG has not responded to them..
This shows FG doesn't care about Education since it's not affecting them or their children..See eh I'm tired of this country! 😔

NLC and TUC cannot negotiate for Nigerians. They are as corrupt as our leaders and politicians. https://t.co/ZWmsULaQcX

Nigeria is in shambles. But one of the reasons why things cannot be fixed any time soon is because the very ones who are meant to push that they be fixed are themselves eating fat from the decay. Like pigs, they prefer the water when it is dirty.
NLC and TUC are cases in point.

After the betrayer of NLC and TUC, #October1Protest is inevitable. Let see how many peaceful protesters Buhari will assault, arrest and kill on Zoo's Independence Day – #NigeriaAt60.

The current crop of Labor leaders of the NLC and TUC are a big disappointment. Brown envelop and money-hungry leaders. They can trade Nigerians for any amount.

The NLC and TUC were suppose to be the voice of the masses, they were suppose to be our weapon against this failing government…but sadly they're also part of the failed system.
