Thierry Henry Resigns As France Under-21 Coach After Olympic Silver
French football legend Thierry Henry has officially stepped down as the manager of the France Under-21 team. Henry, who was appointed in August 2023 after serving as the assistant manager for the Belgian national team, was initially expected to remain in the role until 2025.
However, he decided to resign after guiding France’s Olympic football team to a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Games.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that in his statement, Henry expressed deep gratitude to the French Football Federation (FFF) and President Philippe Diallo for the opportunity to lead the team.
While he did not disclose the specific reason for his resignation, he emphasized the immense pride he felt in securing a silver medal at the Olympics and thanked the players, staff, and supporters for their support.
Henry remarked, “Winning the silver medal at the Olympic Games for my country will remain one of the greatest prides of my life.
“I am incredibly grateful to the Federation, the players, the staff, and the supporters who allowed me to live this magical experience.”
FFF President Philippe Diallo also acknowledged Henry’s successful tenure and expressed regret over his departure.
Diallo praised Henry for achieving the objectives set for him, including the Olympic medal, marking a significant accomplishment for France 40 years after their last Olympic success in Los Angeles.
Diallo stated, “On behalf of the FFF, I would like to thank Thierry Henry for all the work he has accomplished at the head of the Espoirs and Olympiques teams.

Following his resignation, Thierry Henry is expected to return to his role as a pundit for CBS Sports, where he will contribute to their coverage of the upcoming Champions League season.
