Things You Should Know About The New Continent Discovered By Scientists

Geologists are concerned with the study of the earth and objects that are around it and recently, they had made a breakthrough in their activities as a new continent known as Zealandia has been discovered, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
Previously, only seven continents ( Africa, Asia, North & South, America, Australia, Antarctica, and Europe) were known but another continent that was reported to be hidden was discovered under a country called New Zealand.
Reports from BBC News revealed that from the study and mapping of the new continent, it was observed that New Zealand, the country which is a neighbor to Australia is part of the Zealandia continent.

Geologists revealed that over 90% of Zealandia is under the Ocean and the country, New Zealand is a part of it that found its way above the Ocean.
Reports also show that it took 375 Years for Zealandia to be discovered because of its hidden location.
It was reported that the Dutch Sailor, Abel Tasman was the first person who tried to discover the continent back in 1642 when Europeans were still exploring the world.
In the same year, Abel Tasman discovered the country, New Zealand but wasn’t able to discover that it is part of a Continent that was almost covered by the Ocean.
